Frohe Weinachten!

Remembering those from all nations who found themselves far from home and loved ones in those Macedonian Christmases from 1915 to 1919.

German soldiers enjoying Christmas in the Balkans.

This postcard from my own collection shows a cheery and festive group of German soldiers in the Balkans. I have a small collection of cards related to Prussian Feldartillerie Regiment Nr 201 who were in the Vardar Valley for some of 1916, before moving to Rumania. There is no indication of the year depicted. The young chap at bottom left with a moustache is certainly from FAR Nr 201, whilst those in darker uniforms may be Schützen (Rifles).

And Joyeux Noël!
