Saturday 8th October saw the annual gathering of members in London. This commenced with the customary wreath laying at the Cenotaph to remember the men and women of the BSF who served and, in particular, those who died during the campaign or from the results of injury or disease.

This was followed by a social gathering at the Civil Service Club in Great Scotland Yard (close to the site of the recruiting centre where many enlisted for the Great War). Once suitably refreshed, a splendid turnout of over 40 members and friends met in the aptly named Trafalgar Room, to hear Professor Eric Grove give a fascinating and illuminating talk entitled, Salonika – The Naval Dimension.
After this, the annual general meeting was held with reports from the Society’s officers who, in a spirit of unanimity and support worthy of North Korea, were all re-elected to office:
- Chairman – Alan Wakefield
- Secretary – Viv John
- Treasurer – Ray Brownson
- Membership Secretary – Keith Edmonds
- Editor of The New Mosquito – Tim Mole
- Web Editor – Robin Braysher
