For me, one of the joys of owning a Smart TV is the ability to watch YouTube videos from the comfort of my armchair or even my exercise bike (yes, really!) rather than on my PC at my desk, especially as I am now watching longer videos, rather than just cats doing funny things.

I’ve already shared with you the Great War Huts and the WFA YouTube channels, so I though I would complete the set with britishmuzzleloaders which, although not Salonika-specific, has interesting material on British musketry of the First World War. The channel clearly started with a focus on British military muzzle-loading firearms, but I promise you it has extended its range to include later weapons, such as the Lee Metford, the Ross Rifle and the good old SMLE. I’m not a ‘gun nut’ but I do like to know what soldiers carried and how they used their weapons – and Rob is a knowledgeable and entertaining host. A good place to start is this introduction to the No. 1, Mk III Short, Magazine, Lee Enfield. Happy viewing!
