Fronte Macedone 1916-1918 : an Italian perspective

It was a pleasure to hear from Prof. PhD Fabio Cotifava from Mantova in Italy recently. With a group of like-minded friends Fabio has created a website dedicated to the Salonika campaign, to promote the campaign in Italy where, as in the UK, it is largely forgotten. Although the content is mainly in Italian, he hopes to include more in English but, even so, you are sure to find much of interest as there are many photographs. The web address is: http://www.frontemacedone.com/

I’m not sure that we have ever had anything on the Italians in the campaign in The New Mosquito, so I will attempt to redress the balance with something on this website very soon.

Andy's interest in the campaign comes from his grandfather, Arthur, who served in Salonika as a sapper with the Royal Engineers from 1916-1918. Opinions expressed in these posts are personal and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Society.
