SCS Annual Meeting 2026

Saturday 10th October 2026

• General social
• Talk by Alan Wakefield, Balkan Gunners: Some Aspects of the Artillery War in the Salonika Campaign
• Talk by Dr James A. Wearn FLS
• More tbc

* Please do not arrive at the Civil Service Club before 12 noon.

Please Note, advance booking is required (by September 25th 2026) as availability of seats is strictly limited (see below for how to book). These will will be allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis. We regret that, on the day, we cannot admit members who have not booked.
The cost of the annual meeting is £10.00 per person, excluding lunch. Members may buy food and drinks at the Club bar if they wish.
If you are able to supply a raffle prize or prizes for the meeting, we would be most grateful. Please bring any prizes to the meeting or contact our Secretary, Chris Loader (via our Contact Page), if you would like to donate in advance.

How to book:

Members wishing to attend the meeting must register beforehand either by:
1. Completing and submitting the online form below, with payment, no later than 25th September 2026, OR by
2. Completing and sending a printed form along with a cheque. The printed form needs to be with us no later than 25th September 2026 and can be downloaded here.

Additionally, should you wish to make a donation to the society, you can do so here.

(a) If you have a PayPal account, click ‘Pay with PayPal’ and sign into your account.

(b) If you want to pay by card, click the CREDIT CARD ICONS and pay as a PayPal guest. You do NOT need to create a PayPal account.

By default, PayPal will ask you to sign up to its service but you do NOT need to create a PayPal account. Deselect the option to ‘Save information & create your PayPal account.’
