SCS Annual Meeting 2025

Saturday, 11th October 2025

11.30am: Wreath-laying at the Cenotaph, Whitehall

12 noon* for 12.30 for talks by:

• Dr. Jake Gasson, Salonika: The Battle Against Boredom.
• Chris Loader, 10^th Battalion The Hampshire Regiment: The OG Salonika Battalion.
• Alan Wakefield, Balkan Gunners: Some Aspects of the Artillery War in the Salonika Campaign.

Venue: The Civil Service Club 13-15,
Great Scotland Yard, London, SW1A 2HJ

* Please do not arrive at the Civil Service Club before 12 noon.

Please Note, advance booking is required (by September 20th 2025) as availability of seats is strictly limited (see below for how to book). These will will be allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis. We regret that, on the day, we cannot admit members who have not booked.
The cost of the annual meeting is £10.00 per person, excluding lunch. Members may buy food and drinks at the Club bar if they wish.
If you are able to supply a raffle prize or prizes for the meeting, we would be most grateful. Please bring any prizes to the meeting or contact our Secretary, Chris Loader (via our Contact Page), if you would like to donate in advance.

How to book:

Members wishing to attend the meeting must register beforehand either by:
1. Completing and submitting the online form below, with payment, no later than 20th September 2025, OR by
2. Completing and sending a printed form along with a cheque. The printed form needs to be with us no later than 20th September 2025 and can be downloaded here.

Additionally, should you wish to make a donation to the society, you can do so here.

(a) If you have a PayPal account, click ‘Pay with PayPal’ and sign into your account.
