Happy Easter!

We wish all our Orthodox friends and visitors a very happy Easter! Sorry to be late with these good wishes, but I only realised yesterday evening.

To celebrate, here is a Greek military band from the First World War playing on a feast day which may, or may not, have been Easter.

This is an Italian post card from my own collection, with a photo by Henri Manuel (Edit. B.R.D.). On the back there is a brief message to ‘Mandy C’, “When are you going to write again!”. Was this a lovelorn Salonika soldier? We will never know.

For the record, Orthodox Easter Day is 20 April next year.
