Expert talk on the 1914 Christmas Truce

The Christmas Truce by Steve Smith

This Zoom talk will take place at 6pm on Friday 17th December 2021.

Steve Smith has studied the Christmas Truce for a number of years and has visited a number of sites relating to it with school and adult tours. There are many myths surrounding the Truce which includes the truth and myth about football. Steve states,

The debate on what actually happened rages each year. But ultimately as a battlefield guide & author I must try to ensure that what I am showing my groups or writing about is as accurate as possible. So, this talk is designed to ensure that this story is told as accurately as possible looking at sites where it actually happened.

Steve is so passionate about this subject that he devoted a chapter to this subject in his most recent book about the Norfolk Regiment on the Western Front.
