To the Babuna Pass …

There was little rest for the Brigade Jouinot-Gambetta and next morning (24th) it resumed its march into the hills towards the Babuna Pass.

I was lucky enough to come across a book by General Jouinot-Gambetta about the exploits of his brigade: ‘Uskub’ [Skopje]  Ou ‘Du Rôle De La Cavalerie D’Afrique Dans La Victoire’. Ideally I would have read it in time for the centenary, but that’s a job that will have to wait until retirement! In the meantime I will share some pictures and maps, starting with this one:

A map showing the advance of the Brigade Jouinot-Gambetta from the front line to the Babuna Pass, 22-25 September 1918.
