Happy New Year!

I wish all our readers all the very best for 2019.

Even though the centenary is over I hope you will keep visiting this website during the coming year. I have lots of fascinating material which people have sent me and kindly allowed me to share here – it’s just a question of me getting around to it. If you’re one of those people – thank you and I’ll try to do better in 2019. Sounds like a New Year’s resolution is called for! But there is lots to look forward to.

Until then, here’s another postcard from my collection, simply chosen because it has a wintry scene. I’m guessing it dates from winter 1915/16. Happy New Year!

French postcard: The European War in the Balkans (10) - British soldiers on the march in the snow

Author: SCS Web Editor

Robin Braysher joined the SCS in 2003 and soon after became editor of the Society's journal - 'The New Mosquito' - a role he held until 2008. He then became the Society's web editor, a role he seems unable to shake off. His interest in the campaign comes from his grandfather, Fred, who served as a cyclist with the BSF from 1915 to 1917, mainly in the Struma valley. Opinions expressed in these posts are his and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Society.
