And another thing …

It is its marvellous collection of military vehicles that makes Muckleburgh well worth a visit – that and its location in glorious North Norfolk – but other delights are an historic military camp, the Suffolk and Norfolk Yeomanry Collection, previously mentioned, and an extensive display of scale models.

Amongst these I was pleased to find an impressive depiction of an RFA 18pdr field gun, in action in Salonika, 1917.

Scale model of an 18 pounder field gun of the RFA in Salonika, 1917. Seen at the Muckleburgh Collection, Norfolk.

Happy Norfolk Day!

He then became the Society's web editor, a role he seems unable to shake off. His interest in the campaign comes from his grandfather, Fred, who served as a cyclist with the BSF from 1915 to 1917, mainly in the Struma valley.
